I came to my work at Bald Ridge Lodge through a combination of professional and personal experience. As the mother of a son, I know firsthand how much young men need safety, nurture, and the space to grow into themselves at their own pace. Through my work, I have learned how much is lost when that foundation is missing. The young men we serve have faced abuse, neglect, and trauma that disrupted that foundation. I've seen over and over again that when they finally receive consistent care and a stable environment, they change. Sometimes it's subtle...a shift in how someone carries himself, a willingness to ask for help. Sometimes it's significant...a young man setting a goal he never thought possible and actually reaching it. That's what keeps me in this role as Executive Director. I believe deeply that healing is possible, that responsible adult living can be learned at any stage, and that every young man deserves the chance to experience what it feels like to be safe, supported, and free to become who he is meant to be.
